Armed with more than 100 instruments, the five Australian musicians of the Spaghetti Western Orchestra are to perform the classic soundtracks by celebrated composer Ennio Morricone that helped bring Sergio Leone's iconic films to life. The multi-talented quintet, which has been touring the world with their one-of-a-kind musical act since 2004, will re-enact a fistful of spaghetti western classics through music from the likes of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, For a Few Dollars More and Once Upon a Time in the West in the Opera House on Saturday, February 25th.
With their unabashed theatricality and extraordinary charisma, this five manage to re-enact every gunshot, fistfight and jangling spur of the Wild West, and in the most inventive of ways. Their arsenal of musical instruments ranges from the traditional to the absurd, the latter of which includes bottles, cornflakes, coat hangers, apples, squeaky toys, rubber gloves, bicycle pumps, nail clippers and duck calls.
The show commences at 8pm, and tickets are €26 from www.corkoperahouse.ie.
