Sports themed ball draws the stars

Cork Simon’s forthcoming annual ball will serve as an exciting curtain-raiser for the London Olympic Games this summer as well as raising much needed funds for the homeless.

The ball, at Fota Island Resort on Friday March 2nd, will have a ‘Sports & Olympics’ theme, with golf pro John McHenry and Munster rugby star John Ryan volunteering their time for the event, and RTÉ's Aonghus McAnally serving as master of ceremonies.

The popular Cork Simon Auction will feature a host of sports related items, including a chance to play and have lunch at the Old Head Golf Club with former European Tour player John McHenry; a day trip for two to the Cheltenham Gold Cup including flights, tickets and vouchers, courtesy of Paddy Power; and the opportunity to secure Kilkenny hurling boss, Brian Cody to mentor a GAA club for an afternoon.
