Chanel fans have been dissecting the third addition to the 'Coco' family, Coco Noir. Presented in an utterly covetable black glass flacon trimmed with gold, the fragrance has a woody base, lifted by fresh grapefruit and spicy pink peppercorn. Patchouli, frankincense and sandalwood add a little warmth to the modern oriental but it's essentially quite sheer
While the first burst of scent is delicious, a single spritz has little staying power, disappearing but for the faintest linger after a few hours. Build it up throughout the day for maximum effect.
Coco Noir Eau De Parfum €92, Brown Thomas.
