The BMW group is bringing it all back home for the venerable Mini next month at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which will be a showcase platform for the new edition Mini Rocketman concept.
First presented at the Geneva Motorshow in 2011, the Mini Rocketman, which will be on show in the BMW pavilion close to the Olympic and Paralympic Village, combines innovative urban mobility solutions with its classic British design feel, inside and out.
With its three doors and exterior length of just over three metres, the Mini Rocketman combines a classic appearance with the most advanced technology under the hood.
Its frame is made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic, enabling a lightweight construction, while an innovative interior accommodates three full-size seats and an extra seat that is suitable for short journeys.
The car wears its British heritage on its sleeve, with exterior and interior red, white and blue colour schemes inside and out, and is pitched as embodying a typically British form of sporting elegance.
