Elbow Lane muscles in on craft beer market

The first locally-produced Elbow Lane Craft Beer is now available at the Castle Café, Blackrock Castle and its sister restaurant Market Lane on Oliver Plunkett St. Developed by the foodie folk behind the two popular eateries, Angel Stout, named after Angel Lane which is situated at the North Gate Bridge end of North Main Street in Cork city, has a tough roast and malt flavour with a full-bodied and smooth finish. The beer is brewed using the strong hop variety Herkules to get a balanced hoppy spiciness and is best suited to robust steaks, stews and curries.

Inspired by Cork's many fascinating streets and alleyways, many of which have survived from medieval times, Elbow Lager, named after Elbow Lane which is is located off Cook Street near St Patrick’s Street will follow on June 20th, along with Wisdom Ale, named after Wisdom Lane which is situated between nos 42 and 43 North Main Street later this month. Try a bottle this weekend at the Castle Café or Market Lane, €4.95. Visit www.elbowlane.ie for more information.
