The Edge Sports Blackwater Triathlon 2012

The Edge Sports Blackwater triathlon will take place next Saturday, August 18th  at 4pm in Fermoy. The event, now in its fifth year, begins with a 750m swim in the River Blackwater, the first 250m will be upstream and the final 500m is downstream. Out of the water and it’s straight onto the bike for a 20km cycle. The cycle will leave the park, head out the Mallow Road and complete a loop before returning to the town. Participants will then complete a 6km run, crossing the finish line in the park.
The race is suitable for all levels, from beginners to seasoned pros and a number of relay places are also available. The relay allows either a two or three person team to complete the event and provides the opportunity for those who have never taken part in an event like this to enter with friends and give it a go!
