Dramatic finish for Cork City in Dublin

A late goal by John Dunleavy against Shamrock Rovers last Friday extended Cork City FC’s unbeaten run in the Premier Division to six matches ahead of the mid-season break. The game at Tallaght Stadium finished 1-1, after a dramatic conclusion that saw Dunleavy equalised with his first goal of the season in the 88th minute, just three minutes after the Dubliners took the lead in the closely contested match.

The outcome was sweet revenge for Tommy Dunne’s men, who had experienced frustration at Turner’s Cross earlier in the season after Rovers snatched a draw by netting a last-minute equaliser.

Cork City’s Premier Division campaign resumes at Turner’s Cross on Friday June 22nd, when Derry City will be the opposition. The side’s next away trip in on June 29th to Bray Wanderers.

Meanwhile, tickets for Cork City’s friendly fixture against Watford FC at Turner’s Cross on Tuesday July 24th, priced €10 for adults and €5 for juveniles and seniors, are on sale at the club shop in Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
