Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the return of the hugely popular Cork Cricket Charity Sixes returns to the Cork County Cricket Club grounds at the Mardyke, when Dolphin RFC will be aiming to retain their title.

Over the past three years, the title has rotated between Dolphin, Kilbrittain GAA and The Scousers, all of whom return to do battle again tomorrow, against staff from Rearden’s, The Villains and other teams also lining out in aid of the ISPCC.

This year’s nominated charity has a significant connection to cricket, as its CEO, Ashley Balbirnie, has a well-known son in Irish cricket star Andrew. In previous years, the Cricket Charity Sixes has raised vital funding for Marymount Hospice, the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind, and the Matt Talbot Association.

Registration for the Charity Sixes is from 9am tomorrow, with the first game starting at 10am.

Entry fee for teams of six is €150, of which €60 will go to the ISPCC. For information visit www.corkcountycricketclub.com.
