Cork Women's FC on winning streak

Cork Women's FC continued their winning streak last weekend with a 2-0 victory against Shamrock Rovers at home setting them up nicely for their next encounter against Peamount United in Dublin this Sunday.

It was Dave Bell's side's first victory at CIT, but they had to work to defend it, with an especially active outing for goalkeeper Amanda Budden. Little room for complacency, then, in the final analysis.

However, manager Bell will have been pleased by the steady manner in which the Cork players steadily asserted their dominance over the Dubliners. Indeed, Cork's margin of victory could have been even wider, if they hadn't been denied by the Rovers crossbar.

Overall, it was an impressive performance, with the goals by Denise O'Sullivan and Lynsey McKey assured and confidently taken.

Lining out on home turf again this Sunday to face Peamount United, Cork Women's FC will be aiming to break their losing streak to the Dublin club, who have defeated CWFC previously by 6-1 and 3-2.
