“It is important that we hold it, because if we didn’t, two years would pass and we would lose our slot on the international racing calendar. And we really are looking to the future. Firstly, Royal Cork Yacht Club will be 300 years old in 2020, and that’s a Cork Week year too. And secondly, Cork Harbour has an exciting future as an international centre of maritime activity, and we will be working hard to ensure that Cork Week plays an important part in that, along with Bord Fáilte, the Port of Cork, and Cork County Council,” Pat concluded.
