The Irish launch of the exciting new Ford Focus ST will coincide with the vehicle’s role in the cinematic reboot of 70s British television series The Sweeney, starring Ray Winstone and Ben ‘Plan B’ Drew as iconic cop duo Regan and Carter.
Going on sale in Ireland from €35,170, the Focus ST is a global performance car, jointly development by its teams in Europe and the US, and will be available in 40 countries this year.
With the high level of driving dynamics expected from a Ford performance model, the Focus ST is powered by a direct-injection 2.0l alloy turbocharged, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with a 250PS output.
Despite the higher power, the car delivers a fuel-efficient performance of 7.2l/100km and CO2 emissions of 169g/km, an improvement of 20% on its predecessor.
With standard features including keyless start, sporty Recaro seats, Bluetooth and 18in alloy wheels, the Ford ST offers “exhilarating performance, road-griping dynamics and superior levels of refinement… and is ideal for everyday driving”, according to Ford Ireland chairman and managing director, Eddie Murphy.
