Bringing the audience into the dangerous world of the Frank family, Centre Stage will present their production of The Diary of Anne Frank this weekend. Telling the tale of a 13-year old girl, and a small group of family and friends who must hide away in a tiny attic to avoid persecution by the invading Nazi forces, the play runs tonight, Friday and tomorrow Saturday from 8pm at the Aemilian Theatre in Mallow. Through the detailed and inspiring diary she kept for two years, this famous young heroine of the 20th century comes to life through Aideen Walsh, as she grows through puberty into young adulthood to become the embodiment of hope and humanity in spite of the most unimaginable tribulations. Tickets, €12 are on sale from the Centre Stage office at the Gilbert Centre at 022 53477, Just Kidding in Mallow or see www.centrestageschool.com.
